Lessons from Humboldt Bay

Frequenters of our website may already be aware that the Davenport Institute has consulted with and supported Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District in its public engagement program regarding water usage. In the latest issue of California Special District magazine, Pete Peterson, Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District’s General Manager Carol Rische and Mary Gelinas, principal at public engagement consulting firm Gelinas-James, Inc. describe the water districts public engagement effort and discuss how it demonstrates the importance and potential of legitimate participatory processes in special districts.
