The Hampton Roads Center for Civic Engagement, with support from the City of Virginia Beach, recently finished conducting the eighteen month long public engagement effort, “Envision Transportation.” The purpose of this public engagement was to discuss transportation challenges and possibilities for the community of Virginia Beach.
The process brought citizens together through a Citizens Working Group as well as through a series of briefings from transportation experts, ten community dialogues and an online survey. Upon completion of the project, the Virginia Beach City Council received a briefing on the results of “Envision Transportation” that will be used for making future transportation policy decisions that are informed from community values and priorities.
