The Detroit Works Project is trying to seek citizen input on long term redevelopment. They have decided that rather than trying to bring people to the table they’re going to take the table to the people. Literally:
the project’s newly-formed civic engagement team will be taking a “roaming table” around town to talk to residents about long-term redevelopment of the city. . .
Pitera and community organizer Ponsella Hardaway will be part of a team setting up the table at the transit center for a few hours Monday morning, hoping to stimulate discussion with residents that will inform a strategic framework for revitalization.
